The copper-bonded ground rods combine the strength of steel for ease of installation with molecularly bonded copper for corrosion resistance. They feature a high carbon steel core and tip that provide superior strength when driving. The rods have a 99.9% pure electrolytic copper coating with a minimum thickness of 10 mils, listed to UL 467. The copper coating will not crack when bent or tear when driven. The nVent ERICO name, length, diameter, and part number are roll-stamped within 12 inches of the chamfered end. The UL logo and control number, where applicable, are stamped on each rod for easy inspection after installation. The coating forms a molecular bond to a nickel-sealed high strength steel core. The rods are pointed, with a 5/8 inch diameter and 5 foot length.
