The CommScope MST-08MH00-A1000A is a hardened fiber optic Multiport Service Terminal (MST) used in the outside plant access portion of FTTx networks. It provides 8 hardened full-size SC/APC adapter ports (long 2xN port configuration) in a gasketed hardened plastic, UV-stabilized black enclosure, and is supplied with a single 1000 ft (304 m) dielectric flat loose tube cable stub wound on a reverse spool with an unterminated tail for field splicing.
The terminal mounts in handholes, on pedestals, poles or strand, and is rated for above-ground, below-ground and buried environmental spaces. It uses G.657.A1/A2 fiber over a 1260–1635 nm operating wavelength range, with maximum terminal connector attenuation of 0.4 dB and minimum connector return loss of 65 dB. Operating temperature range is -40 °C to +70 °C, with IP68 (+2 m waterhead) sealing and Telcordia GR-3120-CORE, GR-326-CORE and GR-771-CORE qualification. An enclosure and a universal mounting bracket are included.
