The Corning UR2-BOX is box packaging of Presslok™ UR2 gel-filled insulation displacement (IDC) butt splice connectors, used for splicing copper communications wiring in the local loop and outside plant. Each connector accepts two or three solid copper conductors, which may be of different wire gauges, and makes a butt splice.
Corning states that the Presslok series supports fast installation, ease of use and a wide range of common wire gauges, with dry versions available for central offices and vaults. These connectors help service providers maintain reliable connections in the embedded plant for high-bandwidth services. The UR2-BOX part number is supplied in box packaging; Corning's specification sheet indicates 100 pieces per box and 1000 units per delivery.
