The Jonard Tools VGB-100 is a double-ended cleaning brush designed to remove built-up acrylate coating, dust and silica deposits from fusion splicer V-grooves and surrounding components. Debris left behind by each splice can cause fiber offset, alignment errors and higher splice loss, so routine brushing helps keep a splicer performing the way it did out of the box.
The brush measures 4.3 in (10.92 cm) long and weighs 0.01 lb (6.356 g), so it stows easily in a splice kit or technician pouch. Its main color is silver and the handle is stainless steel. The VGB-100 is also supplied as a component of the Jonard Tools TK-285 Fusion Splicer Cleaning Kit, where it is specified for cleaning the built-up acrylate coating in fusion splicer V-grooves.
